On Thursday September 25th we met and discussed following things:
Alley Project:
Mud Bay Grainery is interested in sponsoring the First Alley. They are in their draft phases and we’ll hope to have a proposal from them soon. At a minimum a organization will be required to clean an alley 1-2 a month.
The Olympia Taxing District
We’re still awaiting news on when we can start lobbying the troops to make our voice heard and help pass this to help Downtown turn a page and open a new chapter.
Charette
One of the biggest challenges is to get the money for the charette. Full-blown charettes can run up to a million dollars. One option would be to start the process with a series of talks by urban designers. This could introduce the process to the community and we can get wide-spead support. The cities Comp plan will be reviewed in 2011 (not sure if I got that right!) so it might be a good time to get this process started and have the results flow into the new plan.
